PHAROS WG1+WG2 Workshop: neutron star equations of state and transport properties
On the observational side, several current missions (e.g. NICER, LIGO/Virgo) with new results and future missions (e.g. eXTP, ATHENA, SKA, ET) coming online in the near future have a specific focus on the neutron star equation of state (EoS). In this context, it is our great pleasure to announce the PHAROS WG1+WG2 workshop, that will be held from February 24 to February 26, 2021, in the Institute of Space Sciences in Barcelona (if possible) and in any case virtually through Zoom (part of banner image credits: ESO & UVA).
The focus of the workshop is to discuss and set up a framework for an upgraded and extended online repository for EoS models and associated transport properties.
The repository will be based on the CompOSE catalogue and with an easily readable format, standardized over different communities, ready to use in simulations and interpretation of new data. The workshop aims at defining specific tasks and potential teams to undertake them.
Topics will include:
** Expansion of the EoS database, increasing the contributors of such data
** Identify and include transport properties relevant to NS, BNS and CCSN modelling
** Improve data format and available tools depending on community needs
NOTE:
Given the current COVID-19 situation, a face-to-face meeting cannot be guaranteed. If conditions will not allow it, the meeting will take place in a virtual form. Even if a face-to-face meeting will be organized, remote attendance will be accommodated.
