System view#
Description#
This sequence generates a 3D view of the planetary system, based on your input properties and plot settings.
Copy the default planetary system file as ANTARESS_systems_sequence.py in your working directory and define the properties for your host star and its planets.
Copy the plot configuration file as ANTARESS_plot_settings_sequence.py in your working directory.
The Planetary system architecture plot module is set up with default options, which you can modify along with many additional settings.
The sequence can then be executed from your working directory as:
antaress --sequence system_view --custom_system ANTARESS_system_sequence.py --custom_plot_settings ANTARESS_plot_settings_sequence.py
The plot will be saved within Working_dir/Star/Planet_Plots/System_view/
Procedure#
This sequence bypasses the workflow processing and directly calls the plot module. All workflow settings are set up by default and do not need to be modified.
Application#
Fig. 2 3D view of the TOI-421 system. The stellar spin-axis is the black arrow extending from the north pole, with the stellar equator plotted as a solid black line. The stellar disk is colored as a function of its surface RV field. The green and orange solid curves represent the best-fit orbital trajectory for TOI-421~b and c, with normals shown as arrows extending from the star center The thinner colored lines show orbits obtained for orbital inclination, semi-major axis, and sky-projected spin–orbit angle values drawn randomly within 1 \(\sigma\) from their PDFs. The star, planets (black disk), and orbits are to scale.#
